The untold story of HENRIETTA LACKS "Everyone should be aware of that immortality."
-- Liqdachemist from the Balance Project
Her name was Henrietta Lacks, but scientists know her as Hela.
If you could pile all Hela cells ever grown onto a scale, they'd weigh more than 50 million metric tons-as much as a hundred Empire state buildings.Hela cells was vital for developing the polio vaccine; uncovered secrets of cancer, viruses and atom bomb effects; helped lead to important advances like cloning and gene mapping; and have been bought and sold by billions.
This issue of Balance Mag. talk about; who's making our water into chemical cocktails? Why inner cities have the highest levels of chemicals in their water? toxic societies and dangerous products; BM talks about the negative side affects and how the negatives outway the positives.
Finally a Magazine with integrity. BALANCE MAGAZINE NOT ONLY COVER UNDERGROUND,GLOBAL AND COMMUNITY ISSUES, they offers SOLUTIONS to them.
Alcohol's immediate effect on the brain is most unusual. At low doses, alchohol stimulates the brain cells, and drinker feels happy, talkative. After one or two drinks, the BAL (Blood Alcohol Leves) in the brain rises and alchohol begins to disrupt the brains electrical and chemical circuitry, causing complicated behavior changes.

Balance Mag. will like to honor our home grown inspiration, Kevin Bagget of Burlington Twp, Burlington County N.J. Kevin Bagget (KB) was not only a high school basketball success, he took education serious. His child hood was no different from much others, the neighbor (the neighborhood disease)hood rumbles, house parties, & a few beers with the fellas. However, he remained focus on education and basketball. Indeed, Kevin is well respected and loved by our local communities. Kevin, has never revealed, selfish nature or arrogance in our mist.  Kevin Baggett is now the head coach of Rider College Baketball team. We will like to offer our peace and blessings to Kevin Baggett and his family.

THE HARMFUL AFFECTS OF ALCOHOL AND ALCOHOL CONSUMPTION
Alcohol has an immediate effect on behavior. Take low doses, and it quickly stimulates the brain cells, and the drinker feels happy talkative and energetic. After a few drinks the normal drinker may experience a little improvement in thought and performance. As the BAL (blood alcohol level) rises, the level of alcohol in the brain rises and begins to disrupt the brains circuitry, causing complicated behavior changes. With large amounts of alcohol flowing through the brain pathways, the central nervous system cells can no longer function correctly.
